Ferdinand Tessendorff (1879–1924) and his Hieracium collection

The Hieracium (Compositae: Cichorieae) collection of Ferdinand Tessendorff (1879–1924) was recently located in the backlog Botanical Museum Berlin. It comprises 565 specimens, including several types, which have now been incorporated into general herbarium. A digest life and work Tessendorff, a high school teacher amateur botanist Berlin, is presented. status 11 type specimens present discussed, their taxonomy assessed, new synonymies are proposed four names lectotypified.
